86th Street Orchard is a small, family-run u-pick operation just north of Topeka, growing apples, raspberries, grapes, and tomatoes alongside peaches, pears, cherries, and plums. It isn't set up for group tours — call ahead and Cathy or Kenny will tell you what's ripe and set a pick time. The orchard also sells local honey. Open July through September.

Blood Orchards

Wichita, KS

Blood Orchards has belonged to the same Wichita family since 1871, growing peaches, apples, cherries, and sand plums out of a building that dates to 1885. Salt in the groundwater wiped out the original trees in 1984; the family began replanting in 2015. Peaches sell from mid-July into early September, and the Bloods now also run a taproom pouring beer and seltzer made from their own fruit.

Brenda's Berries & Orchards

Chetopa, KS

Brenda's Berries & Orchards, now operating as Reid Orchards, sits east of Chetopa off U.S. Highway 166. The family grows pecans, apples, pears, Asian pears, and peaches, and 2026 marks the final season of the pick-your-own thornless blackberries that built the business back in 2001. The season moves from strawberries in May through blackberries and peaches in summer to sunflower fields and pumpkins each fall. The farm market sells jams, frozen pies, local honey and doughnuts.

Meadowlark Farm Orchard & Cidery

Rose Hill, KS

Meadowlark Farm Orchard and Cidery east of Wichita in Rose Hill is a peach and apple orchard, pumpkin patch, and hard cidery open year-round — pick strawberries, peaches, apples, and pumpkins in season, then relax in the tap room with hard cider or homemade root beer. The farm makes its own jams, salsas, apple butter, and mustard, and offers picnic shelters, a playground, and a disc golf course over hill, dale, and creek.

Pome On The Range Orchards and Winery

Williamsburg, KS

Mike and Donnie Gerhardt planted Pome on the Range by hand starting in 1983, growing it into an 80-acre orchard and winery six miles southwest of Ottawa with 25 acres of apples and another 12 in peaches, cherries and pears. The market has sold cider, wine, jams and pies alongside the fresh produce for decades. As of the 2026 season the orchard is closed to the public — check ahead before planning a visit.

St. Andre Orchard

St. Andre Orchard's first trees went into the ground in 2012, and the Rziha family now grows peaches, apples, blackberries, apricots, nectarines, and plums using a fraction of the spray commercial orchards use. Picking is by appointment only, and kids can hand-feed the farm's sheep while they're there. In peak season, look for their fruit at farmers markets in Atchison, Leavenworth, and St. Joseph.

Steffen Orchard

Conway Springs, KS

Steffen Orchard has grown peaches and apples in Sumner County since 1983, with 60 acres of u-pick peaches ready in July and August and 20 acres of u-pick apples from late August through October. Cider comes out of the press starting in mid-September and runs through the fall. Call ahead for picking conditions before the drive out.

Tenth Street Orchard

Sterling, KS

Tenth Street Orchard is a young apple orchard taking shape at the corner of Tenth and Washington streets in Sterling, marked by an old red barn. The first 40 trees went in during 2023, so the orchard isn't open for picking yet — the owners describe it as still "coming soon."
