Altamont Orchards is a family-run apple orchard and farm market at the base of the Helderbergs in Altamont, New York, owned by the Abbruzzese family since 1967. Pick-your-own apples run on fall weekends at the farm's Route 146 orchard, with Empire, Fortune, Fuji, Crispin and Jonagold on the picking list. The farm market sells apples, sweet apple cider, apple cider donuts, pies, mums and Northeast specialty foods, and the farm ships apple gift packages from November through Christmas. Allied Brewing pours beer inside the market.

In the 2026 season pick-your-own apples began August 29 and pick-your-own pumpkins September 19, and the farm is open Thursday through Sunday, 9am to 6pm, and all holidays. The farm stand sells apple cider donuts, pies and orchard-produced raw honey. Visitors ride a tractor-pulled hay wagon around the orchard, feed the farm animals, watch a honey bee observation hive and use an Amish-built playground, and a Christmas light show begins November 27.

Barton Orchards is a 180-acre pick-your-own apple orchard and vegetable farm in Poughquag, New York, founded by Bruce and Rose Barton in the late 1970s as a wholesale orchard. Visitors pick apples and pumpkins, and listings add peaches, raspberries, sweet corn, tomatoes and flowers. Weekday entry is free, and fall weekends need a Festival Pass for the five-acre corn maze, hayrides, petting zoo and haunted house. The farm makes cider donuts, runs a Tap Room, and sells year-round at The Apple Core farm stand in Poughkeepsie.

O'Neill's Orchard is a u-pick apple orchard in LaFayette, New York, a few minutes from Exit 15 on Interstate 81. Keith O'Neill started it as a farm stand in 1986. The 2026 picking schedule runs from Zestar, Paula Red and Honeycrisp in late August to Crispin and Ida Red in late October, with u-pick raspberries as well, and u-pick apples cost $1.50 a pound. The stand opens daily from 10am to 6pm and sells jams, baked goods and cheese, and the kitchen serves apple fritters and cider donuts on weekends.
