AJ Honey Farms LLC

AJ Honey Farms began in 2016 when Allen and Judy Stovall started rescuing lost bee swarms from truck stop canopies around Salina, Kansas — a hobby that turned into a storefront at 901 N. 9th St. in 2023. The Stovalls sell liquid, comb, whipped, and naturally crystallized honey along with alfalfa-clover honey and handcrafted beeswax candles. They also offer swarm removal, beekeeping supplies, and mentoring for new beekeepers. The shop is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Hillside Honey Apiary

Hillside Honey Apiary is a veteran, family-owned bee farm operating out of a former rural high school building in Easton, Kansas, just north of Leavenworth. Shelley and Ty Martin tend about 80 hives whose bees forage wildflowers along the Missouri River between Leavenworth and Atchison. Beyond raw unfiltered, infused, and creamed honey, the farm sells beeswax skincare products, goat's milk soap, pasture-raised eggs, and cut flowers, and runs hands-on beekeeping tours where visitors suit up to open a live hive.

KC Raw Honey

KC Raw Honey keeps naturally healthy bees on 43+ open acres of diverse Kansas wildflowers — pond and stream included — beside the beekeeper's backyard in suburban Overland Park. The honey is local, raw, and unfiltered: cold-extracted and double-sieve strained to preserve pollen, live enzymes, vitamins, and antioxidants, from colonies obtained entirely by relocating local swarms.

New Hope Farm & Apiary

Wellsville, KS

New Hope Farm & Apiary is a small, women-owned apiary in Franklin County producing raw clover and wildflower honey along with beeswax, pollen and hand-made soaps and candles. The bees go untreated with chemicals or antibiotics and forage unsprayed ground near the hives. Visits run by appointment — call or email ahead to schedule a stop at the farm.

Spring Creek Honey

Medicine Lodge, KS

Spring Creek Bee & Honey Farm sits in Barber County, Kansas — gateway to the scenic Red Hills — where Brian and Lisa Withrow started the apiary in 2014 on Lisa's family farm, three miles west of Medicine Lodge. Guided by one rule (what's good for the bees is good for business), the sustainable apiary produces raw prairie honey that's lightly filtered and never heated, plus spun and hot honey, beeswax, and nucleus replacement colonies.

Sweet Prairie Honey

Sweet Prairie Honey keeps its hives around Olathe, Kansas, and sells the raw, unfiltered honey straight from them at 1252 E. Frontier Lane, pickup only. Beyond the plain raw honey, the lineup includes a maple pecan spun creamed honey, a cinnamon cream honey, and bee pollen. Johnson County regulars point to the honey's local pollen content as their reason for buying it through allergy season each year.

Swobee Honey Farm

Hays, KS

Swobee Honey Farm has kept bees across western Kansas since 1978, selling comb honey and whipped honey from hives that get no antibiotics. Beyond the honey jar, they sell nucs and packages of Italian, Carniolan, and Buckfast bees each spring, with pickup available in Hays, Great Bend, Salina, and Newton. It's a two-generation beekeeping operation built for both honey customers and other Kansas beekeepers starting new hives.

Toller Apiary

Louisburg, KS

Toller Apiary keeps bees around Louisburg and sells buckwheat, clover, wildflower, and raw honey straight from the hive, along with supplies for other beekeepers. The bees forage in unsprayed areas and aren't given antibiotics. The apiary has operated as a Kansas LLC since 2019.
