Kaye Family Farm grows lychee on 28 acres near Akaka Falls on the Hamakua Coast, land that was once a sugar plantation and later an organic ginger operation. Its 120 lychee trees produce about 5,000 pounds of fruit each May, sold as Kaimana Lychee and shipped only within Hawaii; pick-your-own visits run by appointment, with roughly 50 other tropical fruit varieties also grown on-site.
