Sweetlove Farm raises pastured poultry and grass-fed, grass-finished lamb on 63 acres in Oskaloosa, Kansas, in Jefferson County northeast of Topeka. Owners Phil and Sally Holman-Hebert move their laying hens across pasture in open-air, floorless coops, giving the birds constant access to grass, bugs, and sunlight instead of a barn. The farm has supplied the Lawrence and Kansas City area with eggs, chicken, and lamb since 1999, selling direct off the farm rather than through a middleman.
