Lake Elmo

Robert and Dorothy Ziertman bought this Lake Elmo farm in the 1950s, and the family has sold pumpkins here for more than 40 years, just south of Highway 36 on Keats Avenue. The non-commercial patch offers pumpkins from 2 to 200 pounds, several kinds of squash, gourds, mini pumpkins, and decorative corn, plus goats to feed and tractors for kids to climb.

Wyoming

Pick your own pumpkins straight from a 40-acre field here, priced around $5 each, along with gourds, squash, Indian corn, giant pumpkins, straw bales, mums and raw honey. The patch runs seven days a week, 9 a.m. to dusk, from the third Saturday of September through October 31. Kids get a play area and corn pit; hayrides run on weekends. Bring cash or a check, since cards aren't accepted, though there's an on-site ATM.

Dayton

Knapton's grows five acres of summer red and yellow raspberries, an acre of fall raspberries, pick-your-own apples, and a large pumpkin patch at the corner of Highway 55 and Lake Sarah Heights Drive in Greenfield. The farm also raises cherries, pears, sweet corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, and winter squash. It runs from late June through November, about 20 miles west of Minneapolis in western Hennepin County.
