Pick-your-own strawberries run a short window from mid-June into early July, before the orchard closes to prep for apple season. The same farm reopens in mid-August with 25 apple varieties, a bakery, and fresh cider.

A naturally grown, pick-your-own blueberry farm at 9450 Mendel Road North in Stillwater, family-run and shifting toward organic using composted poultry manure, fish emulsion, and mulch. Blueberry Fields of Stillwater is a family-run u-pick blueberry farm about four miles northwest of Stillwater, managed by Summer Kuehn and her son alongside Haden Hausken. Picking opens whenever the berries are ready each summer, with some pre-picked berries available too. The farm has organized volunteer field-maintenance days during the off-season to keep the bushes healthy.

Hastings

Wyatt's Strawberries has run pick-your-own since 1975 at its farm on 180th Street East in Hastings, selling u-pick strawberries by the pound and pre-picked by the quart, cash or check only. Asparagus rounds out the spring lineup. The strawberry season lands mid-June to early July, and you can bring your own containers. Call ahead to check patch conditions and place pre-pick orders. Rainbow Ridge Blueberry Farm grows u-pick blueberries near Welch, in the Cannon River area southeast of the Twin Cities. Picking opens in mid-to-late summer when the berries ripen, and hours track the crop, so call before heading out. A single-crop patch built around blueberry season.

Anoka

Berry Hill Farm has picked strawberries and raspberries outside Anoka since 1991, across 100 acres. Strawberries typically ripen mid-June and raspberries around the Fourth of July, running $3.90 a pound for u-pick, with pumpkin picking and wagon rides added each fall. Hours shift with the harvest, so the farm runs a berry hotline, 763-600-4870, for daily updates.

Greenfield

Knapton's grows five acres of summer red and yellow raspberries, an acre of fall raspberries, pick-your-own apples, and a large pumpkin patch at the corner of Highway 55 and Lake Sarah Heights Drive in Greenfield. The farm also raises cherries, pears, sweet corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, and winter squash. It runs from late June through November, about 20 miles west of Minneapolis in western Hennepin County.

Jim's Produce sells fresh vegetables from a stand in Independence, in the western Hennepin County farm country, and is best known locally for sweet corn. Tomatoes, squash, and other summer crops fill out the stand as they ripen. On-farm pickup runs through the growing season. A roadside produce operation, not an agritourism destination.
