Adam and Charlene Fuller founded A & Z Apiaries in Hampton in 1980, and the operation now manages around 200 bee colonies across eastern Connecticut. Each spring they bring in 3-pound packages of Italian-Poline crossed queens from Wilbanks Apiaries in Georgia, shipped by climate-controlled transport in under 18 hours.

Stonewall Apiary keeps roughly 350 honeybee colonies scattered across more than a dozen eastern Connecticut towns, from Woodstock down to Mystic. Visitors can book a honey-house tour or a beekeeping presentation by appointment, and the small farm store sells honey and beeswax straight from those hives.
