Joel and Leslie Gerber, both middle school teachers, turned six acres of family wheat ground into a U-pick berry farm in 2011, moving a 1914 farmhouse onto the property in the process. Sweet Berries and Brambles now grows strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries three miles north of Harper. It's a fourth-generation family farm, just growing something different than the generations before it.
