The North Farm at MSU's Upper Peninsula Research and Extension Center in Chatham, Michigan is dedicated to certified organic specialty crop research and hosts a farm business incubator growing the next generation of U.P. farmers. Part of an 827-acre facility established in 1899, the center runs public field days, twilight tours, student field trips, and workshops for farmers transitioning to organic, alongside a South Farm herd of experimental grass-fed Red Angus.
