About This Farm
Ho'ōla Farms is a Hilo-based nonprofit, legally Ho'ōla Veteran Services, that Emily Emmons founded in 2015 to strengthen Hawaii Island's food system. The organization farms a small market garden of organic vegetables and herbs near Hilo and runs the Hawai'i Farm to Car online market alongside the Hilo Food Hub, a shared commercial kitchen. Its Victory Gardens for Veterans program teaches military veterans and their families to grow food at home.
