Hawaii Forest Farms

About This Farm

Hawaii Forest Farms works 30 acres near Volcano Village growing mamaki, a native Hawaiian tea leaf, under restored rainforest canopy. Founded in 2017 by a group of sustainability and beverage-industry veterans, the farm spent two years clearing invasive plants before opening guided tours to the public in 2019. Walks through the forest cover at least five mamaki varieties and pair with the University of Hawaii, local nonprofits, and schools on native forest restoration alongside the farming.
