Great River Maple taps trees along the bluffs of the Mississippi River Valley near Garnavillo and boils the sap down into certified organic maple syrup, maple cream, maple sugar, and maple cotton candy. The family-run operation offers free walking tours of the sugarbush, showing visitors the actual tapping and boiling process instead of just selling jars at a stand. It's one of Iowa's few certified-organic maple producers, in a state better known for corn than sugar maples.
