Chateau Morrisette planted its first vines in 1978, which makes it one of Virginia's oldest wineries, perched beside the Blue Ridge Parkway near Floyd. The list runs from Cabernet Sauvignon and the Archival XII red to the off-dry Black Dog and sweet Sweet Mountain Laurel. A dog mascot runs through the whole brand, and friendly dogs greet visitors. An on-site restaurant serves lunch, and events include Music Bingo and the Black Dog concert series.
