Bozeman Alpaca Traders keeps a herd of Suri alpacas on Bates Road in the Gallatin Valley, about 15 miles west of Bozeman. The ranch helped found the Yellowstone Alpaca Breeders Association, the first such group in Montana. Visits run by appointment: feed and walk the animals, then browse the Trading Post for hand-spun yarn, felted throws and rugs, and alpaca teddy bears.
