About American Flatbread at Lareau Farm and Forest
American Flatbread at Lareau Farm is a wood-fired pizza restaurant on a 25-acre farmstead along the Mad River in Waitsfield, Vermont. George Schenk started baking flatbread in his Warren backyard in 1985 and moved the restaurant to Lareau Farm in 1991. Pizzas bake in an earthen oven on a stone base, and the farm keeps 10 acres of gardens with chickens and pigs. The restaurant serves dinner Thursday through Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. and takes online orders. The farmstead also has walking and mountain bike trails, a bed and breakfast, and art galleries in the Big Red Barn from June to October.
