Nelson-Shine Produce is a family-run vegetable farm near Brainerd that grows and sells a wide range of vegetables through the summer and runs a CSA. The Nelsons recently wound down a poultry-processing side of the business to focus on produce. Members and drop-in buyers order vegetables in season directly from the farm; Ron handles orders.

Pick-your-own strawberries run from mid-June to mid-July near Brainerd, open 7am to 5pm daily until the patch is picked out. Blueberries follow around mid-July, available Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 7am to noon. You can pick your own or have the crew pick for you, and families are welcome. Jake and Scout's Berry Farm was a pick-your-own blueberry and cut-flower farm in the Brainerd Lakes area near Nisswa, started by Lise Herren, with Wednesday evening s'mores a fixture of its early seasons. The property sold in 2019 to Todd and Tracy Linbo, who now run it as Double T Acres, still offering u-pick blueberries off County Road 29.

Pick-your-own strawberries run a short window here, roughly late June into mid-July, before the farm shifts to its fall identity as Triple S Pumpkins. The Gerads family grows more than 50 varieties of pumpkins, squash and gourds, with a swing trail winding through the woods out to the patch and farm animals for kids. David Stish first bought the Royalton land in 1978 and ran it as a cut-your-own Christmas tree and berry operation. Open weekends from mid-September through October.

Little Falls

Lorenz Strawberry Patch grew pick-your-own strawberries, along with other fruits and vegetables, on 48th Avenue outside Little Falls. The farm has closed as of 2025. In its running seasons it supplied local strawberries in late June and early July to the Little Falls area.

Elm Island Lake Berry Farm has grown u-pick strawberries and raspberries since 1997 on small fields ringed by woods and hay meadows, six and a half miles southeast of Aitkin on County Road 12. Picking usually runs from late June into mid-July. Hours shift with the crop, so the farm asks pickers to call ahead for daily conditions; pre-picked berries need a few hours' notice.
