Blackfoot

Isom's Apple Fruit Farm started in 1994 when Jeanne Isom planted 200 apple trees on the family's Blackfoot property. Three decades later the orchard sells Honeycrisp and other varieties out of a red barn farm store on site, with u-pick typically open Saturdays starting in late September once the crop is ready, usually by mid-September. The Isoms also bring apples to the Idaho Falls and Pocatello farmers markets. Call ahead before driving out, since picking days shift with the harvest.

Shoemakers grows more than 150 varieties of vegetables on their farm in Blackfoot, one of the larger crop lists of any u-pick operation in eastern Idaho. What's ready shifts fast through the growing season, and the farm asks that visitors call ahead to check availability before making the drive out.

The Johnson family has farmed this 18-acre plot north of Blackfoot for five generations, growing a wide list that runs from beets and cauliflower to peaches, raspberries, and two kinds of potatoes. Their sweet corn has a following beyond the farm stand — it's the corn behind the Mexican Crazy Corn booth at the Eastern Idaho State Fair. The on-site store and u-pick rows are open May through fall.

Wild Adventure Corn Maze cuts a new design into its field each fall, a Pac-Man maze for the 2025 season, on a farm south of Idaho Falls. General admission covers all three mazes plus a barrel train, jump pads, a corn cannon, a tube slide, and a rock wall; hatchet throwing and concessions cost extra. Kids under three get in free.
