The Johnson family planted the first apple trees here in 1980, and the farm now opens each fall from Labor Day weekend through Halloween with no admission charge. The country store sells apples, pumpkins and baked goods, while kids get a climbing area and petting zoo. Toss a coin in the whistling well and the farm matches it as a donation to Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. It sits on St. Croix Trail south of Hastings.
