The Urban Canopy runs Chicago's Local Unified CSA out of a two-acre farm on the South Side, bundling produce from a network of local growers into weekly or biweekly shares instead of growing everything itself. The same operation handles residential, commercial, and event compost pickup, and delivers both the produce and empty compost bins with an all-electric vehicle fleet. It's food-system and waste-system work under one roof.
