The California Strawberry Festival takes over the Ventura County Fairgrounds for two days each May, timed to a region that grows 36 million trays of strawberries a year. The 2026 event marks its 40th anniversary, with strawberry shortcake, chocolate-dipped berries, live music, and vendor booths built around the county's signature crop. It started at Channel Islands Harbor before moving to its current fairgrounds site in 1991.
