The Blueberry Bog traces back to 1926, when J. Foxcroft Carleton planted blueberry bushes shipped from New Jersey onto his Route 6A property — the first cultivated blueberry bushes in New England. The bog still opens for pick-your-own picking each summer, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily, under current owners Steve Touloumtzis and Sally Winings. Route 6A runs past some of the oldest continuously farmed blueberry ground on the Cape.
