Preston Trail Farms has run its Big Orange Pumpkin Farm each fall since 1997, on Highway 289 north of the DFW metroplex in Gunter. Kids pick pumpkins straight off the vine, ride the hayride, and work through a hay maze. A petting farm, gift shop, and the Trails Cafe serving burgers and sandwiches round out the day, and the hardware and feed store stays open year-round. Leashed dogs are welcome and under-2s get in free.
