Blackberries are the whole story here, more than 300 Ouachita and Apache thornless plants growing about eight miles southwest of Paris. Donna Mashburn sells the fruit direct to local customers through the summer picking season. The thornless varieties make for easier picking, and both cultivars ripen sweet in the East Texas heat.
