Shelby Farmers Market sets up Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., May through October, on the grounds of the Packard Proving Grounds — the historic automotive test track that gives the market its other name, the Packard Farmers Market. Free guided tours of the grounds run every Saturday at 11 a.m. during the season, and half the market's proceeds go to the Packard Motor Car Foundation's preservation work. Running since 2008, it pairs local produce and crafts with a piece of Michigan car history most visitors don't expect.
