New England Wagyu raises its herd not in Massachusetts but just over the state line in Mason, New Hampshire, at Hilltop Farm. Sam Rowse and Diana Templeton started with two Wagyu steers meant for their own table in 2018; one taste convinced them to refocus the whole operation around cattle. The herd runs about 20 head of purebred Wagyu now, rotated on pasture year-round with no feedlot, no grain finishing, and no hormones or antibiotics.
