About Mountain Oven Organic Bakery
Mountain Oven started baking out of Crested Butte in the winter of 2010 before moving over the pass to Paonia, a town with the highest concentration of organic farms in Colorado. The bakery grinds whole grain flour in-house daily and ferments each batch with a sourdough culture developed at altitude. Bread, pastries, and fruit pies are hand-shaped, canvas-risen, and baked on a stone hearth. Find them at the Friday pop-up, 8 to 11am, or at Natural Grocers in Gunnison.
