Ginger, a Master Gardener, and her daughter Summer built Mothering Herbs into what they call the first herbal CSA in north Alabama, founded in 2008. Instead of a produce box, members get balms, tinctures, teas, and elderberry syrup made from herbs harvested less than a year old, alongside a small flock of chickens and a few grass-fed cattle on their Florence property. The farm also runs herbal workshops and plant walks through the year.
