About This Farm
MO Hives KC is a nonprofit started by Dr. Marion Pierson, a retired pediatrician turned beekeeper, that places and maintains beehives on vacant lots across Kansas City's urban core — the organization sits in Missouri, not Kansas as filed here. Roughly a third of food production depends on pollinators, and the group's hives double as a way to reclaim blighted land with plantings alongside the bee boxes. Honey and merchandise are sold from 5030 Wabash Ave., Mon/Wed/Fri 8-1 and Sun 9-11.
