Masterman Farm grows organic highbush blueberries on River Road in Avon, just south of the Phillips bridge, and opens for pick-your-own at $4 a quart during the first two weeks of August. The sales barn on the property dates to around 1860 and is the oldest known free-standing barn in Avon, still standing after the original farmhouse burned in 1967. Berries also show up at the Phillips Farmers Market and area grocery stores.
