Marsh River Cooperative is a member-owned grocery in Brooks, a rural town of about 1,010 people with limited access to fresh food. Founded in 2014, the co-op sources meat, dairy, bread, and produce mostly from within a 10-mile radius, working with roughly 70 area farms to keep the shelves stocked. Bulk bins carry organic flours, nuts, and legumes alongside frozen meats and fresh vegetables. It functions as both a grocery store and a hub for the small farms around it.
