About Lava Cap Winery
Lava Cap Winery has grown estate grapes at 2,700 feet in the Apple Hill district of the Sierra Foothills since the Jones family planted the vineyard in 1986. The volcanic ash soils on the property produce Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Barbera, Zinfandel, and Petite Sirah described as intensely aromatic. The tasting room opens daily from 10am to 5pm, with picnic tables set among the vines for anyone who wants to stay through lunch.
