Johnny D's Fruit and Produce has sold fresh fruit and vegetables on Washington Street in Brighton since 1994, when John Depietro opened the store with two employees. It's stayed a neighborhood produce stand instead of expanding into a full grocery, the kind of place regulars return to for quality and specialty items like sundried tomatoes. Closed Tuesdays; open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. the rest of the week.
