Jefferson Chalmers Farmers Market was founded by community organizers Minya Irby and Catherine Vargas to give resident growers and artisans in Detroit's Jefferson-Chalmers neighborhood a place to sell. It runs the second and fourth Sundays, June through October, 2pm to 6pm, and doubles as an urban gardening and small-business incubator backed by Kresge Foundation grant funding.
