Hoffman Grist Mill
About This Farm
Hoffman Grist Mill traces back to 1869, when Swedish immigrant miller Christian Hoffman dammed the Smoky Hill River to grind wheat into flour that was eventually shipped nationwide at 1,200 barrels a day. The original mill closed during the Great Depression. A rebuilt mill opened on the same site at 105 N. Factory Street in Enterprise, Kansas in 2016, run by Debbie and Terry Thompson, producing whole wheat, bolted white flour, and farina using the same stone-ground methods.
