Sanford and Liz Green planted Hightower Creek east of Hiawassee on Highway 76 around 2011, in the Blue Ridge foothills of the Upper Hiwassee Highlands. The tasting room deck looks over the vineyard and a pond, pouring both wine and mead. Live music plays Saturday afternoons from 2 to 5, and a rental cottage on the property lets visitors stay the night instead of driving the mountain roads home.
