Gin Creek grew out of Max DeMott's 1967 idea for the family land near Moultrie, developed into a working vineyard starting in 1999. The 100-acre property wraps a 20-acre lake with eight rental cabins on the shoreline. The tasting room operates out of a renovated tobacco barn under a 400-year-old oak, pouring French-American hybrid and muscadine wines, and the grounds double as a wedding venue with three separate event sites.
