John and Melanie Gallup started their beef herd in 2008 and added Jersey milk cows the following year on their family farm outside Gooding. John, a large-animal veterinarian, grain-finishes the Angus-cross cattle for beef while the farm sells raw, unpasteurized milk and handmade beef tallow soap directly from the property. The farm store keeps set weekday hours and sets up at the Gooding Farmers Market May through October.
