Five Fields Farm sits on land settled in 1776, though the orchard itself dates to the late 1920s when John Gyger planted the first five fields of apple trees the farm is named for. Third-generation owners have scaled back from nearly 150 acres to about 70, growing Macintosh, Cortland, Paula Red, Macoun, and Honeycrisp. In winter, 27 kilometers of groomed trails open for cross-country skiing.
