East Forty Farm in Waldoboro now operates as Lakin's Gorges Cheese, making handcrafted cheese from pasteurized cow's milk alongside farm-raised pork and beef from heritage-breed pigs fed on the dairy's whey. Allison, who started making cheese in 2002, and Neal, farming since 1992, built the creamery together in 2016. The farm store on Route 220 South is self-serve daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; text ahead for meat orders.
