Carawan's grows blueberries and blackberries in Hyde County, on US Highway 264 near Swan Quarter along the Pamlico Sound. The farm sells both pick-your-own and pre-picked fruit and runs a kitchen alongside the fields. Rows stay open daylight hours, seven days a week, once the berries ripen in summer. It's a working farm on the flat coastal plain, well off the tourist track.
