Baxter's Vineyards & Winery has made wine in Nauvoo since 1857, when Emile and Annette Baxter planted vines near what's now Illinois' oldest recorded concord grape vineyard. Kelly Logan, a fifth-generation Baxter, runs the operation today with wife Brenda, producing roughly 13 wines from sweet to dry, red to blush. Visitors get free tastings, a self-guided tour, a gift shop, and a full bar.
