About Bates Nut Farm
Bates Nut Farm is a family nut farm and store in Valley Center, California, on the 100-acre ranch Gilbert and Beatrice Bates bought in 1921. Nuts are roasted and packaged on site, and the store also sells homemade fudge, candy, chocolate and dried fruit, with online orders through its shop. The free Farm Zoo, with alpacas, goats, sheep and a mini-donkey, is open daily 9am to 5pm. The pumpkin patch, running since 1963, opens each September through October 31 with tractor hayrides, a straw maze and pony rides.
