About Ayres Family Orchard
Ayres Family Orchard is a pick-your-own fruit orchard near Owenton, Kentucky, founded in 1983 by Larry Ayres and his wife. It started with 1,400 trees and now has about 200, according to an October 2025 Spectrum News report. Visitors pick apples, peaches and berries, and the orchard sells cider, fruit butters and applesauce-making classes. A Kentucky Department of Agriculture listing describes 8 acres on a hilltop above the Kentucky River and an on-farm country store selling plums, sorghum, jams and jellies.
