Applefield Farm started in 1981 when Steve and Kirsten Mong took over a small apple orchard on Great Road; four decades later it's a three-season vegetable operation supplying its own farmstand along with local restaurants and retailers. The stand runs mid-April through October 31, with produce grown on-site rather than trucked in. Hours shift by season — call ahead before a special trip.
