About Apple Acres Farm

Apple Acres Farm is an off-grid, solar-powered family farm on 14 acres near Houghton, Michigan, started in 2020 on a heritage apple orchard by Michigan Tech alumni Heather and Caleb Wright Wendel. The farm sells maple syrup, wildflower honey and free-range duck and chicken eggs, and it keeps goats, chickens, ducks and honeybees. Visitors book farm stays in a 500-square-foot studio loft, farm tours and experiences such as wild mushroom foraging and goat happy hour from April through October.
