The Rice family has run this u-pick cherry and berry farm off Highway 49 near Placerville since 1994. Four cherry varieties and seven berry varieties, including raspberry, boysenberry, and olallieberry, ripen from late spring into summer, with a one-acre picnic lawn and koi pond on site. Entry runs $5 a person, and some years the cherry crop fails outright to weather.
