Every Saturday from May through October, more than 100 vendors set up at the corner of Landmarks Boulevard and Henry Street in downtown Alton, rain or shine. Alton Main Street runs the market, and the mix leans toward home-grown produce, hormone-free meats, baked goods, plants, native honey, and artisan crafts rather than resale goods. Hours run 8 a.m. to noon, and SNAP shoppers get a matching-dollar program at the info booth.
