A & J King Artisan Bakers has baked bread and pastry in Salem since 2006, after Andy and Jackie King trained for three years at Standard Baking Co. in Portland, Maine. Everything — baguettes, croissants, hand-shaped loaves — comes out of the ovens on-site daily at their Central Street location downtown, with a second spot on Boston Street handling wholesale pickup. The bakery also wholesales to a number of area restaurants and shops.
