About This Farm
Auerfarm has run hands-on 4-H style programs on 120 acres in Bloomfield since 1976, two miles from downtown Hartford near the Simsbury line. Kids ages 8 to 18 work directly with chickens, alpacas, cows, sheep, and ducks, and the grounds include walking trails, a children's herb garden, and rotating seasonal gardens. The nonprofit says its programs have reached more than 17,000 people through year-round classes and events.
